    Abstract

This online resource is based on the Home Tips pocketbook and has been carefully adapted to suit use on mobile (resizable / vertical scroll) platforms. The original pocketbook content has been reorganised to accommodate the different navigation preferences of mobile users.
    Key adaptations are described here:
    * As there is no fixed length of page (compared to print) the text sections have been reflowed to accommodate font sizes which, even viewed on median smaller-format mobile devices, will still meet W3A WCAG AA Accessibility benchmarks [in terms of on-screen font size and contrast of font to background].
    * Some new navigation functions are added, including end-of-section [back] buttons and the interactive contents page. These features follow best-practice in terms of the size and availability (relative to typical thumb control) of action-buttons.
    * QR-code links in the print version are replaced by direct clickable links to external qualified sources of further information.

Accompanying the downloadable file is a data-collection form explaining how it might be used and distributed further as required by other hospitals. [For example: Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust have agreed permission from Tiny Lives Trust to promote this mobile friendly resource to parents in their own Neonatal Service - beginning November 2024]

Contents of the resource were co-designed with staff and families of the Newcastle Neonatal Service [see Home Tips pocketbook linked below]
