Abstract
The book illustrates the evolution of the concept of moral panic and its models through a selection of empirical research and theoretical contributions on the subject. By analysing social dynamics and the role of mass media in amplifying some social issues and in creating and reinforcing moral panics associated with them, the volume provides an opportunity for students and scholars in the field of social sciences, policymakers, professionals, and institutional workers to gain a better understanding of the fundamental aspects related to moral panic.
