    Abstract

Floating solar farms and floating wind farms are emerging choices of energy supply for the future. At present, most floating wind farms are developed separately to floating solar farms. This study examines the feasibility of combining these two types of renewable energy production, to gain potential benefits from increased wind resources, availability of space and shared connection lines. The optimisation of these two forms of energies at three different floating sites with different geographical distributions are investigated. The power characteristics of the hybrid floating wind and solar energy systems, economic factors, and the impact of locations are investigated and discussed.
