    Abstract

    Markus Heckmann is the technical director at Derivative, makers of TouchDesigner. Educated in Germany, but working in Canada for more than a decade, Markus has worked as a key programmer and VJ for a number of high-profile artists and companies, including alva noto, Whitevoid, Rush and many more. He also has a parallel career as an installation artist, producing works at the intersection of sculpture, digital immersion and light design. In this interview with Steve Gibson he discussed the processes of his various collaborations and described his input into TouchDesigner’s systems. He also talks about a number of his work projects as wuestenarchitekten.
