Abstract

The study proposes a theoretical model to investigate how SMEs are motivated to adopt new technologies, therefore affecting productivity changes. This model is developed based on 1) Technology Acceptance Model to study views on the perceived ease of use and usefulness of technologies in warehousing and transport operations; 2) Theory of Planned Behaviour for management support in technology adoption; 3) Social-Cognitive Theory, Supply Chain Leadership Theory, and Organisational Support Theory for leadership impacts on dynamic work environment, thus affecting employees’ engagement and skill development. The results contribute to the existing literature on technology adoption and productivity in supply chain SMEs and provides empirical evidence regarding the impact of management decisions on long-term productivity growth.
