Abstract
This is a completed project working with an independent Children's Footwear store, Jump Shoes, to redesign their main store whilst considering a business plan and website which focuses on customer experience with a vision to propel their online sales internationally.
The store had been successful but had suffered significant sales decline to the pandemic where High streets across the nation are declining and customers are more than ever purchasing online. The company was aware that the main store required a re-design, the company needed rebranding and a future proof business plan was required focusing on customer service, foot health and the quality service and merchandise that their company offers.
Jump is based in the North-East of England where their head quarters are based and sells nationally, with an ambition to increase their customer base to an international audience. The CEO approached the university to support this ambition taking a child-focsed and design research-led approach to their business concept.
The store design involved community consultation, in particular with a user group of children to inform the concept and overall vision. The completed project resulted in both regional and national design awards and an increase in sales of over 500% with a growing international customer base.
