Abstract
Northumbria University is recognised for the priority given to the quality of the student experience. One of the avenues for working in partnership with students within academic schools is the Student Consultative Forum. Although chaired by Learning and Teaching Support staff the agenda is principally set by the student representatives from each of the nine academic schools. As a result, students have directly instigated major and unexpected campaigns and pedagogic research designed to improve the student experience. This paper outlines how Northumbria University in conjunction with Students Union have worked together to incorporate outcomes from collaborative activity into the mainstream.
