Abstract

In this paper, we investigate the problem of estimation of the line impedance and power angle, for control and fault monitoring purposes, of a generator connected to the network. A high gain observer is used to provide the estimate of the line impedance. The estimated line impedance is then used to obtain an estimation of the power angle by using the underlying active electrical power equation. Simulations are carried out to show the good converging properties of the observer.
