Abstract

Living Assembly: Building with Biology’ is a collaboration between Northumbria University (Living Construction) and University College London (Beckett Lab), exploring a future built environment that is grown rather than constructed. The materials featured in the installation represent the cutting edge of biological construction technologies, produced by microbes and fungi, and reflect both the near and distant futures of biology as a building technology.
