Abstract
This publication forms part of a collaborative research project between Northumbria University and LGIU that is analysing international local government finance systems. Previous publications have considered Germany, Japan, Italy, Scotland and Ireland.
The research takes a ‘local government first’ perspective, exploring the complex interactions across different levels of government and stakeholders to understand how the system of local government really works in Australia.
