    Abstract

    machine oil smells sweet is a poem commissioned by Paris-based magazine Vestoj for their issue on slowness. The poem is about women factory workers and is inspired, in part, by Marianne Herzog's excellent 1980 book From Hand to Mouth: Women and Piecework.
