Abstract

Modern business development involves sustainability attributes. This offers an interesting research avenue to explore the effect of sustainable innovation in the context of offsite construction and, specifically, how this manufacturing innovation can be utilised to improve operating performance in the construction industry. However, the sustainability changes of offsite construction are laid on increasing transportation of bulky products and the public concern with the product quality in contrast to the traditional construction methods. This study provides preliminary evidence of the emerging offsite construction’s impacts on firms operating performance. The findings offer empirical examples from the offsite construction companies’ key operating performance.
