    Abstract

A mathematical model for the calculation of the performance of compression ignition engines run on biodiesel fuels is described in this paper. As an illustration of the capacity of the proposed model to predict the engine performance results of numerical simulations of a Compression Ignition engine operating on diesel oil and different biodiesel blends are presented in this paper and compared to available experimental data.
