Abstract

The aim of this chapter is to help the reader understand the pharmacology and pharmaceutical treatment options commonly used in Children and Young People's (CYP) cancer care.

After reading this chapter, the reader will:
- Understand how cancer occurs in CYP in relation to the cell cycle
- Discuss the use of chemotherapies in the treatment of cancer for CYP
- Appreciate the role of immunotherapies in the management of CYP cancer
- Recognise how corticosteroids are used in CYP cancer care
