Abstract

Minimum wavelength network requirement design of multiwavelength all-optical transport networks using a genetic algorithm (GA)/heuristic hybrid approach is described. Improved performance (over a GA alone) and improved results (over recent heuristics) are obtained using a tool for optical network optimisation modelling and design (NOMaD).
