Abstract

Optical soliton pulse may be used as a control signal in nonlinear optical loop mirror (NOLM) demultiplexers in order to reduce timing-jitter noise. A mathematical model for calculating the width and profile of the soliton switching window and maximising peak transmittance has been presented.
