Monumental Inventions: Three collages and two mixed-media montages

Research output: Non-textual formExhibition

Abstract

The "Monumental Inventions" series explores the theme of scale and invention: pictures of details of Carlo Scarpa’s work (taken by the author) are dissected and re-assembled into new compositions evoking a “monumental” scale, which alludes to spaces, places, landscapes. In these terms, the artist never creates, but invents: the Latin word “inventio” means “to find again”, “discover” something that already exists, which, transformed, translated, transfigured, into unexpected combinations of forms becomes a new piece of art, architecture, design.
