Abstract
An essay is presented which discusses the theme of the U.S. Southern States' culture within British music and musical theater during the Interwar period. An overview of the depiction of African Americans's culture from the U.S. South within British musical theater, including in regard to racial stereotypes of African Americans, is provided.
