Abstract
An exploration of three moments in the exhibition history of German art in London: looking at examples from the nineteenth century (Lawrence Gallery (1853); German Gallery 1854; Piccadilly Galleries (1861); South Kensington (1862)); the fin de siecle (Grafton Galleries (1906); Prince's Galleries (1906)); and the dawn of modern art in the twentieth century (Twenty-One Gallery, (1914); Mayor Gallery (1904)).
