N2 - This research investigated the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the UK agri-food small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Our investigation focused on the organisation's resilience, especially agility, flexibility, collaboration, and visibility strategies. The impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic offered a unique opportunity to understand better how major global disruptions affect SMEs and local food systems. Multiple case study methodology was applied to this research. Interviews followed a research protocol guideline. Resilience capabilities, usually essential for supply chain resilience in larger firms, were not identified after capturing and covering real-world empirical data from UK local agri-food SMEs when facing pandemics.
