Abstract
This paper reports on a Post-doctoral Regional Health Authority Fellowship (Clarke). It is an early paper on conceptualising practice development and led to numerous requests for keynotes presentations. It is innovative in its use of soft systems methodology and was the conceptual foundation of the DNSc at Northumbria.
