    Abstract

    The aim of this chapter is to reflect on public relations in the context of corporate communications. It links to Chapter 1 and builds on some of the themes mentioned in the discussion about reputation and public relations. In particular, the importance of understanding stakeholders and their communications needs provides a useful lens for taking a detailed look at specific stakeholder groups in Part 3 of this book. This chapter concludes by exploring core themes embedded within the notion of corporate communications and some of the challenges facing practitioners.
