Abstract

This review article presents a comprehensive study of WO3-based polymeric nanocomposites specially focusing on their multifaceted photocatalytic applications. We go over the history and rationale for the use of WO3 in photocatalysis as well as its characteristics, such as its morphology, structure, electronic capabilities, and optical qualities. In addition to reviewing different synthesis and characterization strategies for WO3-based polymeric nanocomposites, the photocatalytic mechanism of WO3 is clarified. We talk about the uses of WO3-based polymeric nanocomposites in water treatment and pollutant degradation, and we investigate how polymeric matrices affect photocatalytic activity. A comparison with various photocatalytic materials is carried out, and factors influencing photocatalytic performance are examined. The goal of this review is to present a thorough understanding of the possibilities and limitations of WO3-based polymeric nanocomposites for photocatalytic applications.
