Abstract
Following a short overview of how work-based learning at Northumbria University is organised, this paper will go
on to define critical reflection in the workplace context and describe what makes for a suitable environment for this
to take place. It will explore the rules of engagement and propose a process for embedding reflection through
work-based learning.
