Abstract

In this paper, a novel nonlinear adaptive beamformer based on robust statistics is developed for DS-CDMA receiver in mitigating impulsive noise effects. The proposed structure incorporated a nonlinearity parameter into the nonlinear LMS algorithm in order to stabilise the convergence during the adaptation period. The achieved results show that the proposed scheme, as a measure of BER, outperforms the conventional linear beamformer by a factor of 10-15dB.
