Abstract
Time division multiplexing of square-wave frequency modulation for multi-channel mixed analogue and digital signal operation is proposed in this paper. Criteria for selection of the various system parameters are discussed through consideration of distortion and spectral overlap. Simulation results show that good-quality transmission performance can be readily achieved. The scheme is ideally suited for transmission of multi-channel signals over optical fibres.
