Abstract

The main objective of the paper is to outline the basic principles of Direct Torque Control (DTC) for the Brushless Doubly Fed Reluctance Machine (BDFRM). The work to be presented is equally applicable to wound rotor induction machines because of the close modeling similarities of the two machines. The simulation results demonstrate excellent controller performance over the entire supply frequency range.
