Abstract
Artist and researcher Victoria J. E. Jones presented a participatory artwork,Smell the City, as a museum outreach project in a pub. The installation was a display of sewer fat samples purportedly taken in London and Cardiff, UK. The work presented fictional smells associated with real locations. The reactions of the visitors provided insights of how we make sense of the world via associated smell memories. The insights may be of interest to professionals creating smells and spaces/places.
