N2 - An undeniable fact happening in the process of globalization is that the regional division of labor first brought about by the multinational corporations is having a significant influence on the spatial restructuring of industries. From a global perspective, the three-pole spatial pattern of the manufacturing in the world (the United States, the European Union, and Japan) has been broken by the emerging nations and regions in East Asia and the rise of China. Under such a specific circumstance, the globalization brings forward the spatial restructuring①. As Guangdong Province is in the forefront of reform and opening-up, the industrial space there has been constantly restructured in the background of globalization since 1978.
