Abstract
I have used Narrative Inquiry (NI) methodology for many years across various research projects, and have been struck by its flexibility, advantages and applicability when managing complex socio-cultural storied phenomena and "thick" data. As part of a longitudinal study in fashion brand promotion, subjective lived experiences and stories, I have developed a new working Multi-Modal NI Narrative Analysis Framework, which has been designed in response to the specificities of certain foci. This presentation will share the design and conceptual process of developing an original framework for narrative analysis through iterative design thinking, narrative smoothing and logic testing. I propose that this Framework could be used in wider NI studies, and indeed as a Framework for research that uses narrative analysis in general. I am interested in opening this up as a modest provocation to the audience and peer review, to see if my proposed Framework might further develop the methodology, its critical application and practical value.
