Abstract
The chapter aims to review forms of digital technologies available within the spectrum of knowledge acquisition at micro- and macro-level. In particular, we debate the impact of Industry 4.0 on continuous professional development (CPD) and knowledge providers such as universities. Learning styles and career patterns are assessed to provide the reader with an appreciation of how learning interacts with career development and how Industry 4.0 technologies interact at individual and organisational level. The discussion then moves to the crucial role of leaders in organisations and the role of transformational leadership in the introduction, management and challenges of Industry 4.0 technologies in the modern workplace.
