Abstract
In a changing educational landscape, this chapter champions the value and scope of public legal education with reference to its rich history and future potential. It considers the student and university benefits, which often overlap, with an eye on design, inclusivity and constraints. It notes the potential for public legal education to ‘scale-up’ clinical legal education and offer opportunities to create flexible and innovative programmes with reach and impact, particularly in the dawn of the artificial intelligence revolution and the importance of applying knowledge in an educational context.
