    Abstract

This lecture discussed the ways in which a context responsive art work might elucidate cycles of change, decay and loss within coastal settings / communities as related to physical threat of the sea itself, more nuanced technological, economic and social shifts and at a symbolic level, the obsolesce of historic forms of sea power.
