Abstract

This is an innovative ultra low energy housing project that uses BIM as a tool to improve environmental efficiency, construction waste reduction and information management. The project has been built on the site of a Scheduled Ancient Monument and a Site of Special Scientific Interest, perhaps the most challenging of planning context, yet it was given approval due to the perceived quality of the scheme by Historic England and Sunderland City Council due to the quality and appropriateness of the design.
