Abstract
The Space Between [us] was conceived in August 2020 as a collaboration between artist Jessica Dolby in Australia, and architect Sebastian Messer in the UK. It evolved via WhatsApp exchanges of low-tech drawing and making undertaken during the Covid-19 pandemic: the smartphone mediating both connection and displacement during lockdowns. The Space Between [us] was included in a physical and an online exhibition at the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art for five months in 2021.
