Abstract
Timber is one of Solomon Islands main exports but is a natural resource that is in danger of being depleted unless something radical is done. While laws have been put in place to try and ensure sustainablity, safeguard the environment, and ensure an equitable distribution of benefits, they do not work. This paper critically considered the legal environment, its failures and the consequences of these.
