Abstract
This article offers a review of the archives and record keeping practices of the UK’s national student organisation, the National Union of Students (NUS). Beginning with a short history of the NUS, the article outlines the processes by which the NUS created and curated its archives, followed by an assessment of the challenges and potential opportunities of using the NUS archives for historical research. It argues that further training and support is necessary to ensure that a consistent records management policy is implemented, and that the archival history of this important student body and its members is not lost.
