Abstract
Refugee employment offers opportunities for businesses to address labor shortages while fostering community and economic growth. However, integrating refugees into the workforce poses significant challenges. This study introduces "workplace integration capacity" as a framework to guide organizations in navigating these challenges. Based on a three-year case study of a German manufacturing firm, we identify key organizational capabilities, including effective practices and balanced perspectives on refugees' vulnerabilities and capabilities. We also explore integration across three levels: internal programs, broader organizational relationships, and external stakeholders. Our findings offer practical insights to help organizations establish or improve refugee employment programs, promoting sustainable workforce integration.
