Simon Winlow, Steve Hall

Research output: Book/ReportBookpeer-review

Abstract

‘Violent Night’ recently featured on BBC Radio 4’s Thinking Allowed, described by Professor Laurie Taylor as a ‘brilliant account of the cultural landscape of the night-time leisure scene’, a ‘classic ethnography’. Now cited in a number of textbooks, it has also stimulated interest amongst various user groups outside the academic community. Hall and Winlow have been invited to present two papers to local government organisations: Understanding Violence in the Night-Time Economy, Government Office North East, (December 2006) and ‘Violence, Consumerism and the Future of the Night Economy’, Westminster City Council, (February 2007).
