Abstract

Design is formally practiced and taught in India since its nation building initiatives, it has long diversified to find its own meanings and forms within the local context and needs. Today, design in India can reflect on its methodologies and processes including participatory design and user-led design. To this end the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, is hosting India PDC place as an exhibition of case studies and a curated discussion panel. The intention is to understand and map the landscape of participatory design in India and initiate new practitioners, students and people from related fields into the methodologies and values of Participatory Design.
