Abstract

Many libraries offer services for researchers but what does this mean in practice? Who are researchers? Do they have differing needs at different stages of their research career? Whose responsibility is it to support people who are writing for publication and where does the library fit into this environment? Based on research data gathered from research students and staff, journal editors and library staff, this workshop addresses these issues from a variety of perspectives: The 7 ages model of research The publication process, drivers and barriers The LIS role in writing for publication Case studies and examples of best practice
