My research interest is in Digital Transformation of built environment and Digitalisation of Construction and Engineering projects. I have more than 10 years’ experience researching multidisciplinary areas related to digital transformation and digitalisation from multiple perspectives including technology, process, people and policy perspectives. Across these areas, I research: (1) technical topics such the development of digitally-enabled tools and workflows for improving individual, team, project, and organisational performance; (2) management topics including the development of conceptual constructs, tools and metrics to help understand and improve both the impact of digital innovation (i.e. Building Information Modelling; Virtual, Augmented and Immersive Reality; Internet of Things; and Distributed Ledgers Technologies) and the dynamics of its adoption and diffusion in construction projects, organisations, and markets; and (3) policy topics and in particular assessment, benchmark of BIM maturity of organisations and markets, and development of digital transformation policies and BIM roadmaps. This breadth of interest is motivated by my background in both Engineering and Project Management which helps address these research topics at the intersection of engineering, management and social science.

Research Student Supervision InterestsMy research interest is in Digital Construction; Building Information Modelling (BIM) policy, process and technologies; big data applications in built environment; virtual reality applications in construction processes; and construction and engineering project management. I authored more than 60 papers covering these themes in international journals and conferences. I welcome applications from PhD students with interesting ideas and proposals.
